I/my child has never played basketball before , can I come along ?
Answer
Yes the club is open to novices and seasoned players alike .

What are the age groups ?
Answer
Under 8 & 10 ( school year 2,3,4 & 5 ) – co-ed .
Under 12 ( school year 6 & 7 ) - co-ed .
Under 14 ( school year 8 & 9 ) - co-ed .
Under 16 – ( school year 10 & 11 ) – co-ed.

Who runs the training sessions?
Answer: The club has two level 2 coaches and one level 1 coaches. All of our coaches and helpers have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.

Are there competitions or is it just training ?
Answer : We do not participate in league structures at age groups u10-u16 but if the opportunity arises and the club has enough Volunteer Supervising Team Managers we will play friendly games with local clubs to provide an element of external competition.

🏀What is different from previous sessions ?
Answer: All players must register with Swale Basketball Club and also independently be a member of Basketball England to attend the basketball sessions.

Answer: Players will be put on our waiting list or subject to there being available space at the club , new players are invited to come along for a free, no commitment ‘taster’ session where further information will be provided, including guidance on how to register for each Term of basketball .

🏀Do all age groups compete/participate in games/leagues ?
Answer: Our junior basketball is developmental sessions aimed to build and promote participation of the sport within the borough of Swale and surrounding areas.

🏀Is there an administration fee ?
Answer: The Club is running 5 Terms of basketball during the 2024/25 season .
Existing players who have registered and paid for the previous Term will be able to register for the next Term without paying an administration fee .
New players who register at the club for the first time or existing players who did not register for the previous Term will be charged an administration fee when registering for the Term .
**Please note that all personal data held for a player , including their name, is permanently removed from our records should payment not be received by the end of the second session in any one Term ( GDPR Right to Erasure).**

🏀Can I turn up without registering for the Term ?
Answer: Unfortunately not , subject to there being available space at the club , new players ( for players who has not visited the club before ) are invited to come along for a free, no commitment ‘taster’ session where further information will be provided, including guidance on how to register for each Term of basketball .
